This program is ideal for busy dog owners who want to see significant improvements in their dog’s behavior without the time commitment of daily training.
Foundation Program (2 Weeks)
Building a Strong Canine Connection in Just 2 Weeks!
What's Included in our Obedience Toolbox:
Recall (Come When Called):
Teach your dog to respond promptly and reliably to your call, ensuring their safety and your peace of mind.
'Heel' Command on Leash:
Teach your dog to respond promptly and reliably to your call, ensuring their safety and your peace of mind.
'Sit' with an Implied Stay:
Achieve a well-mannered dog who can sit and stay on command, making everyday situations more manageable.
Door Way Management:
A critical skill that teaches your dog the importance of self-control and patience at doorways. Your dog will learn to calmly sit and await your command before entering or exiting any threshold. This not only prevents the risk of your dog dashing out uncontrollably but also reinforces respectful obedience and safety.
'Leave It' Command:
Keep your pup safe by teaching them to resist the urge to pick up or interact with potentially harmful objects.
'Place' Command:
Send your dog to an elevated surface, and watch as they stay in place until released on command. This skill provides a structured and calm environment for both you and your dog.
Preventative Behavior Module:
Within this specialized module, we address the common behavioral challenges that many dog owners face, challenges that, without proper guidance, can turn into persistent issues. It's an essential truth that most dogs exhibit behaviors such as jumping on people, barking for attention, excessive licking, and whining until yet taught the more desirable alternatives.

Signs Your Dog is Ready for Training
Every dog can benefit from training, and it can sometimes be a lifelong pursuit. If you’re wondering if training is right for you, here are some signs your dog is ready for training:
Your Dog is Destructive:
Whether it’s chewing on furniture or shoes, going to the bathroom in your house, or anything else your dog is not supposed to do -- it’s time to get them trained out of these sorts of behaviors. Even older dogs who were previously well-behaved may develop bad habits later in life and need a training refresher.
Your Dog is Aggressive:
Aggression can manifest itself in multiple ways; perhaps your dog growls or snaps at you when you get close to his or her food, or toys. Even more concerning is when your dog is aggressive towards other dogs or humans. Yes, sometimes dogs play in a way that seems aggressive, but if your dog is lunging at or snapping at people or other dogs while you’re on walks, it’s time to get a trainer’s help.
Your Dog Misbehaves on Their Leash:
Walking nicely on a leash does not come naturally to most dogs but it is something that can be learned. Again, even older dogs who previously walked well on a leash may start to act out.
Your Dog is Anxious or Fearful:
If your dog is dealing with severe separation anxiety, or is fearful in new environments, a trainer can help. For separation anxiety a trainer will work with you and your dog on a routine to reassure your dog. General training, especially in group classes, can help dogs build confidence.
Your Dog Ignores You at the Park:
Or on walks, or whenever you’re outside. If your dog is obedient when they’re in your home, but loses their mind outside, he or she would benefit from more training. Group classes can be especially helpful because they put your dog in a safe environment with the kinds of distractions you experience outside. Training your dog in situations where there are other distractions helps them learn to obey even when there are other stimulating sights and sounds.
Board & Train Success Stories
Learn Why Dog owners choose Precision Dog Training Academy
Angela Smith2025-05-25 We did private lesson due to our dog is dog reactive. Precision set up with the perfect trainer Emily. She was very professional and having a similar dog like Koi her self really helped. She would provide weekly homework and yes it could be a challenge but for us we worked every day with Koi. After 2 months she can still have an attitude but from what we started from until now is night and day. We can walk with her and know the signs before approaching another dog walker. Emily is great and very patient. Thank you sooo much we are planning to do more classes as follow up. Again thank you Steven Wilson2025-05-24 When my pup needed training I shopped around, interviewing 3 top KC companies. Precision rose to the top and I don’t have any regrets. They are everything one could ask for, in dog trainers. My pup finished a 3wk board and train, completely turned around. All of his poor behaviors were gone. I’m amazed at how well behaved he was and so will you, if you send your dog to Precision Dog Training Academy Rachel Cooper2025-05-22 I recently had my Scottish Terrier of 7-8 months, Eilidh, do a board and train with PDTA. I had to be out of town because of work and I didn’t want her to lose this time of learning things while she was young - so it just made sense to do the board and train. At the end of the stay, she had her same fun personality but you could tell she had learned SO much! Eilidh was so excited to go back today for her follow-up session - I loved seeing that she had a good association with PDTA - I think that says a lot! Emily, her trainer, is fantastic. She provided updates every day of the board and train and sent videos, too. It was very clear how much work Emily had done with Eilidh and figured out what approach was going to be best for her training. The fundamentals were covered in training but Emily really personalized the training to fit Eilidh’s abilities and our home situation to maximize the outcome. Emily was so patient and supportive throughout the entire process - she even called a couple of days after going home to check in. I am truly appreciative of Emily and the rest of the PDTA team for taking such good care of Eilidh and for giving her such a positive experience. Thank you! 😃 Katrina Nathaniel2025-05-22 I would recommend Precision Dog Training to everyone. My dog, Bleu completed the 3 week board and train 2 weeks ago and it has been home life changing. Bleu is an anxious little guy but he’s also stubborn as anything and it was getting literally unbearable. I’m in the Army and couldn’t devote the time needed to train. Traven has worked a miracle in this dog. I almost cried watching Bleu follow commands. Traven is VERY patient, attentive and knowledgeable of dog behavior. You can tell he loves working with dogs and really cares about their training progress and the owner’s understanding. It’s an investment, but harmony in your house with your furry companion is WORTH IT! Thank you so much Traven ! Jessica Carroll2025-05-20 Keaton helped Sophie with building her confidence along with mine. Sophie started out reactive and fearful but her fear grew into excitement for training each week. Before training, she wouldn’t let anyone at the vet near her, after several weeks of training, she greeted everyone confidently and was excited to show off her skills. Her vet was pleasantly surprised and extra cheerful during her visit. He couldn’t believe he was finally allowed to pet her and see her tail wagging. I am so grateful for Keaton and the whole team at Precision! Britton Robinson2025-05-20 I made a 15 minute functionality phone call appointment. I was called by Mike, the owner. He spent over 30 minutes with me discussing my situation and offered some great advice. At the end, he said “ give me a call back if you need anything” ! Very insightful and great customer service! Meg Adams2025-05-20 Such a fun experience! Definitely got the tools we need to continue to work with our dog on issues like resource guarding and listening to commands! Keaton was great! Mario Manese2025-05-17 From the very start, our experience with Precision Dog Training Academy was exceptional. Ethan patiently answered all our questions and helped us select the ideal program—the three-week board and train. Keaton was incredible with our four-year-old lab, and thanks to his work, we can now enjoy walks without worrying about reactivity toward other dogs. No more waiting until late at night just to avoid other pets. Overall, our dog is much more responsive to commands. Keaton also made sure we were equipped with the right tools to continue training at home and build on the solid foundation he established. Colleen Sink2025-05-16 We love Precision Training Academy!! My dog Hank and I are nearing the end of our 10 week behavior modification program with Keaton as our trainer. Hank gets so excited to go to class each week and adores the staff. Our main goal with starting training was to work through his leash reactivity. Keaton has been so great at helping me understand my pup and how to communicate with him better. I appreciate the patience and kindness he’s shown when working with me through the frustrations that can come as the owner of a reactive dog. Hank has made amazing progress under Keaton’s guidance and we are now able to enjoy calmer walks with much fewer reactions….something I didn’t think possible a few months ago! The past couple weeks, Hank has gotten several compliments from strangers on what a well behaved boy he is. This program has definitely helped strengthen the bond I have with Hank and given me more confidence in working with him. Everyone I’ve interacted with at Precision is incredibly kind, professional and excellent at communicating. I trust my dog in their care. 10/10 recommend! Wendy Porembski2025-05-13 Emily and Ethan at Precision Dog Training helped me turn my rescue dog from a possible rescue failure into a true rescue success. I sent my 2 year old rescue to them as a nipper, jumper, growler, and just an all around difficult pet. She had been a breeder drug with no obedience training prior. She came home three weeks later as a dog I am confident with to take to store and restaurants that are pet friendly as well as have associate with friends and family that visits my home. She is the best behaved dog I have ever had. I would definitely use them again and will refer all my friends and family.
